Lt Raymond Hershey was with the 492nd when it was under the command of Col Pierce. He left the Group to go train with a crew at the 32nd CCTS (Combat Crew Training School) at Davis-Monthan Air Field in Tucson, Arizona. On 5 Jan 44, Hershey returned to Alamogordo with his crew.

After arriving to Alamogordo, Hershey's crew was taken over by 2nd Lt Donald Miller who had also been with the 492nd since the Col Pierce days. We don't know where Hershey went.

There was one more personnel change within the crew. The new D Miller Crew was assigned to the 858th BS designated as Crew 810.
